Style Experiment: Native Futurism

Early experiments with Native cultures in cyberpunk settings.

I’m fascinated by Native Futurism and the question what Native American cultures might look like in sci-fi settings. When I got Midjourney, I discovered that entering “Native American” + futuristic or cyberpunk into the prompt created a style of Native Futurist art I had never seen before. Below are the results from Midjourney3:

I’ve done more in this style at the encouragement of my wife (who is Native American), but these were the earliest experiments. Midjourney 3 handles this prompt differently that Midjourney 4, so later versions of this might be different. (I actually like the painterly quality of MJ3 on this more than the 3D render appearance of MJ4, but this stuff is always evolving.)
